This loop hike climbs to the summit of Panther Mountain, with panoramic views, and runs along the shore of Lake Wanoksink and Pine Meadow Lake.

From the parking area, continue heading towards the mountain, with a large barn on your right. You will see another barn at the base of the mountain, behind white fencing. The triple red-square-on-white-blaze that marks the start of the Pine Meadow Trail is visible on the side of that barn.

Follow the blazes uphill for 0.1 mile and turn right onto a gas line...

HIKER PARKING ALLOWED AGAIN
The no parking signs have been removed and hiker parking is apparently permitted on the right side of the driveway BEFORE the bridge to the equestrian center ONLY. Do not park anywhere past the bridge. As for todays hike, it was brutal. 90 degrees F and the S/BM trail with it's multiple, steep ups and downs took alot out of me, especially since I did this hike in reverse. The swim at Lake Wanoksink was awesome.

Re: Can we still park here during COVID?

We are doing our best to report closures on our Trail Alerts page (https://www.nynjtc.org/news-center/trail-alerts). The Trail Conference works with nearly 200 different individual park units, and every day with this crisis is a unique kaleidoscope of rules, policies, and public access options. If you choose to head out, check with the park beforehand to confirm access.

~Jeremy, Trail Conference Cartographer

Can we still park here during COVID?
Hi! I was going to take this hike, but I was wondering - can we still park here? Any insight would be much appreciated.
