Join the Trail Conference, along with partner outdoors groups to celebrate National Public Lands Day by removing invasives on the Appalachian National Scenic Trail and other local sites in Pawling & Dover, NY

                                     National Public Lands Day Invasive Removal 

                                                     Saturday, September 24, 2022

                                                            8:15am- 2pm

             

 

WHERE TO MEET:

Native Landscapes | 991 NY-22, Pawling, NY 12564. Free parking along Rt. 22 just north of Native Landscapes

The work day will be from 8:15am-2pm, unless you are taking the train which will arrive by 9:30am (train departs Grand Central 7:09AM, arrives AT 9:22AM, with a 1 minute walk to Native Landscapes). 

8:30am Presentation by Ryan Goolic-McClean, NYNJTC's Terrestrial Invasive Species Project Coordinator. The group will then be divided into teams to head off to the work sites.

 

WHO:

Volunteers at least 16 years of age and older, and feel comfortable working for several hours in the outdoors. 

 

BRING: Sturdy boots, long pants, at least 1L of water, packed lunch, gloves, rain gear, bug spray, sun screen. Pack long sleeve shirt. Coffee and donuts will be provided. You are encouraged to bring your own tools such as loppers, shears, and shovels.
